New Camera = Great Pictures!

I am so excited that we finally got a new camera that I just had to post the first picture we took!

Maternity Fashion Show

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to help out some friends who own Bump Brooklyn, a maternity store in Park Slope, and boy was it a lot of fun!  Bump was selected to be the fashion part of Baby Week on WPIX News Channel 11 and needed "models" for the different trimesters.   Being that I'm in my 3rd trimester I was lucky enough to be the biggest "model" on the stage.  It was a great experience and a lot of fun to see how things work behind the scenes at a TV station.  We didn't get much direction on what to do - unless you count, "walk to the black tape and back," so finally the modeling class I took back when I was 10 sure came in handy! :->

Birthday Celebration!

We had the greatest weekend celebrating Gregor's birthday.  After our family party, we dropped Beck & KC off at their respective sleep overs (thanks Susan & Lisa!) and headed to the Ritz Carlton for a night out in the city (thanks Jeff!)

Once we got settled in our room we headed to dinner at Buddakan  and had a fantastic dinner. Here's a recap of what we ate and our personal rating:
- Chili rock shrimp with toasted ginger -- outstanding
- Steamed sole -- very good
- Lobster fried rice -- good
- Charred asparagus with black bean foam -- outstanding
- Charred filet of beef with mustard sauce -- good
- Chili crab & crispy noodles -- very good
- Dessert - Vanilla bean cheesecake with graham cracker ice cream -- outstanding
The restaurant had a great atmosphere.  Everything is served family style and is brought out when it's ready.  This would be a great place to go with a larger group.

Next, we headed to the Joyce Theater to see Savion Glover perform.  SoLo in TiME was a great show!  It was right up Gregor's alley - lots of percussion through tap dancing and various instruments, a few songs and very little talking.

It was a fantastic celebration!!  We then headed back to the Ritz for the night and had a leisurely breakfast on Sunday before returning back to reality in Brooklyn.

Happy birthday Gregor!

Happy Birthday Gregor! (Part 1)

Over the weekend we had a great time celebrating GReGoR's birthday!
On Saturday we had a family party with some yummy cupcakes from Crumbs Bake Shop.  (our favorite is the Cosmo - strawberry cupcake with green kiwi frosting).

Gotta love Beck's new smile when you tell him to "say cheese"

The kids thought it would be funny to have the type of candles that relight after they've been blown out, (and I thought it would be easier for Gregor to blow out the candles multiple times than trying to fit all the candles on the cupcakes :->) He was surprised!
We then moved onto gifts.

Taylor gave Dad a new book Twilight (side note: the author lives in Arizona) and Becker gave Dad his gift - a car magazine.  It's about the only one he doesn't have a subscription to.

Stay tuned for the fun evening celebration!
